Maryland Documentary Photography
Lonnie has documented several major events in the Washington area including Obama inauguration, memorial services for Rosa Parks, and the Washington funeral procession for Senator Ted Kennedy. Each of these events were covered from a different perspective. Lonnie also has documented transitions in the Columbia Park area of DC and the building of the new Washington Baseball Stadium. The stadium images include many of the buildings that were demolished in the process.
Each wedding is different and special. Lonnie gives each of them the attention and creativity that they deserve. He approaches them from a photojournalism perspective.
Parties, political events, conventions, meetings. Events are recorded without being intrusive. Often clients say that they were not even aware the pictures are being taken. Posed and candid images are done so that the viewer is shown the specialness of the occasion. Many events have been covered throughout the Washington area including Prince George's County, Montgomery County, Howard County and Baltimore.
Lonnie's Fine Art studies have included numerous courses at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and at other institutions.
